James Bernard: A master of identities (and more)

James Bernard

Jim Bernard is senior vice president and creative director at Lipman Hearne. He has more than 25 years of experience as a graphic designer, art director, and design consultant for nonprofit institutions, communications firms, service businesses, and publishers. And, of course, as creative director, he leads Lipman Hearne’s nationally recognized design practice—which produces a range of publications, exhibits, commercials, and other communications.

Jim’s other clients have included the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, Library of Congress, The Brookings Institution, Mayo Clinic, Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio Foundation, University of Chicago, Baltimore Museum of Art, Lincoln Park Zoo, Chicago Children's Museum, Duke University, Chicago Botanic Garden, Brown University, Vanderbilt University, and Washington National Cathedral.

Jim received a B.S. from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He teaches design courses for The Goodman Center.
